The University of Miami/UHealth Department of SCCC has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Sr. Research Associate 3 to work at the UHealth campus in Miami, Fl. 

CORE JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Research Associate 3 will assist the Director of Research Support and the research activities on the Office of Community Outreach and Engagement. The Research Support Specialist will provide professional level support and coordination for research and administrative related activities. The incumbent will assist in the in management of systems to analyze and report on catchment area survey data.  

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collect, compile, and document research data related to Community Outreach and Engagement research studies
  • Implement daily study activities and provide statistical support to these activities
  • Expand Community Outreach and Engagement’s cancer-relevant scientific research
  • Researches and collects data, maintains databases, interprets, synthesizes, and analyzes data using scientific or statistical techniques
  • Conducts quality assurance checks with research data manager
  • Reports on status of research activities and submits monthly activity logs for protocol
  • Collect, compile, and document research data
  • Contribute to the publication and presentation of significant research results 
  • Write and edit material for publication and presentation
  • Responsible for writing reports and assisting with data analysis and preparation of manuscripts for publications
  • Implement day-to-day project activities including the preparation of research reports and the participation in dissemination activities; prepares study research procedures manual
  • Assist in formalizing plans to re-administer community survey 
  • Structure/restructure outreach and research opportunities based on data
  • Serve as a policy, systems, and environmental change expert
  • Provide unique cancer control policy, environmental and systems (PSE) change expertise 
  • Conduct a statewide environmental scan analysis
  • Convey the problems to be solved, priority populations to reached, and the needs to be addressed. 
  • Describe proposed and/or recommended state-level actions affecting topics related to cancer that can be linked to PSE change objectives and actionable strategies. 
  • Propose and/or recommend state-level actions structured in categories by different cancers, including but not limited to: Breast (female), Cervical, Colon & Rectum, Lung and Bronchus, Prostate, and Melanoma of the skin.
  • Participate in monthly conference call with program partners
  • Submit summary of meeting attendees, discussion topics and action items

Education:

Master’s Degree in relevant field required

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, experience in statistical programming preferred

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of research and analysis principles.
  • Ability to conduct statistical analyses using statistical software (SAS, STATA, R).
