Not past your plan's allowance. Each billing cycle tops your balance back up to the applications your plan includes, so credits never pile into a backlog you've already paid for. That's why it's worth picking the volume you'll realistically use rather than the biggest plan - the slider at the top of this page is a good gut check.

When the application is written. A credit covers the tailored resume, the cover letter, and the screening answers, and it's charged the moment those are ready for you to review - not when the submission later reaches the employer. If the writing itself fails, the credit goes straight back to your balance automatically, and regenerating or retrying an application you've already paid for is always free.
