What applying to Duke University usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through successfactors typically begin with an online application including a resume and possibly a cover letter, followed by profile screening questions relevant to the specific role. Duke University's large volume of openings across academic, healthcare, administrative, and technical fields suggests that applicants can generally expect department-specific review rather than a single centralized process. Communication may occur via email or through the SuccessFactors candidate portal, and response times vary depending on the hiring team and role complexity. The process may include multiple stages such as recruiter screening, hiring manager interviews, and possibly panel or departmental interviews, particularly for specialized clinical, research, or leadership positions. Candidates should typically ensure their application materials are tailored to the specific job requirements, as systems like this often use keyword-based filtering during initial screening stages before human review occurs.
