MMI1040H Accounting
This course offers a broad introduction to how accounting information is produced and used, with a focus on the needs of users. It covers two key areas:
- Financial accounting, which involves the preparation and interpretation of financial statements—such as income statements, cashflow statements, and balance sheets—that provide insights into an organization’s financial health for management and external stakeholders.
- Managerial accounting, which focuses on delivering relevant data, analysis, and reports to support internal decision-making by management.
Description of Duties:
- Being available online during class hours for in-person sessions
- Marking assignments, having done suitable preparation (careful reading of cases)
- Meet with students on an occasional basis to discuss assignments
- Invigilating the final exam
- Assist in marking tests and final exams
- Use Quercus
- Consult with students by email.
Graduate student in Accounting with experience in grading tests and exams in accounting courses. PhD / student in accounting is preferred
Class Schedule: Wednesdays 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Sessional date of appointment: September 1, 2026 - December 31, 2026
Salary:
The minimum hourly rate shall be:
September 1, 2026 $55.25 (plus vacation rate)
