Course description: This course explores architectural journalism as a means of developing a critical voice within contemporary architectural discourse. Through the reading and analysis of essays, reviews, interviews, and opinion pieces, students will examine how writing shapes public understanding of architecture and the built environment. Assignments will emphasize clear, persuasive, and reflective writing, encouraging students to articulate informed positions on architecture, cities, design culture, and professional practice.

Salary:
- Sessional Lecturer I: $9,997.48
- Sessional Lecturer I Long Term: $10,699.22
- Sessional Lecturer II: $10,699.22
- Sessional Lecturer II Long Term: $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III: $10,953.96
- Sessional Lecturer III Long Term: $11,228.90
All inclusive of vacation pay;

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor or Graduate degree in Journalism.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in architectural journalism and critical writing, with a strong record of publication.
Description of duties: Attending meetings required by program director; preparation and delivery of course material; managing digital teaching materials, supervision of teaching assistants; preparation and delivery of assignments, tests, final examinations and deferred final examinations; marking of student work, submission of grades, dealing with student enquiries, appeals and petitions and student contact hours.
