Job descriptionReq 8070656

Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.

The Community You Will Join:

The Growth Marketing team sits at the intersection of marketing, data, and technology, driving scalable acquisition and measurable business impact across Airbnb. Our work is critical to driving the company’s top line growth. We are looking for a highly strategic and technically savvy Growth Marketing Lead to own Host SEM, the supply side of our Paid Search program. You will be a channel expert, thought partner, and trusted advisor to leaders and business partners across Product, Data Science, Engineering, Supply, FP&A, Brand, and Creative teams to shape strategy and exceed ambitious KPI goals.

The Difference You Will Make:

You will lead end-to-end strategy and execution of Airbnb's Global Host SEM program, driving efficient host acquisition and long-term supply growth. You'll lead large-scale SEM investments across major search platforms, identify new growth opportunities, design and scale experimentation to inform investment decisions, and optimize performance to maximize business impact and ROI. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally to drive scalable solutions, influence roadmaps, and communicate data-driven recommendations to senior leadership that shape key business decisions.

A Typical Day:

  • Lead Airbnb's global Host SEM program across major search platforms (Google, Bing, and emerging channels) to drive efficient host acquisition and long-term supply growth.
  • Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Host SEM, aligning investment strategy and budget allocation with global and regional business priorities.
  • Design, execute, and scale experiments across bidding, creatives, landing pages, audiences, and measurement to drive funnel improvements.
  • Partner closely with Supply, Data Science, Engineering, Brand, Creative, and Finance teams to deliver scalable growth solutions.
  • Own end-to-end reporting for the program, providing accurate, actionable insights that inform investment decisions and business performance.
  • Communicate strategy, performance insights, and recommendations to business partners and leadership through clear, data-driven narratives and presentations.
  • Leverage AI, automation, and innovative marketing technologies to improve optimization, measurement, and operational efficiency.

Your Expertise:

  • 10+ years of relevant SEM experience at a fast-paced consumer technology company; B2B or two-sided marketplace experience is a huge plus!
  • Proven track record of owning a large-scale acquisition channel, managing significant budgets ($XX–XXXM+ annually), and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Deep technical expertise in the SEM tech stack, including bidding, measurement, attribution, tracking, feed management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading high-visibility cross-functional projects from strategy through execution, measurement, and business outcomes.
  • Exceptional executive communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to distill complex ideas into easily digestible narratives.
  • Strong ownership mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and balance strategic thinking with operational excellence.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel.
  • Passion for adopting AI tools to improve productivity (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or similar).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or other quantitative disciplines. Or equivalent combination of education and progressive experience

What applying to Airbnb usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through greenhouse for roles at Airbnb can typically expect an initial application review followed by a recruiter screen to discuss background and role fit. The process may include multiple stages such as hiring manager conversations, functional or role-specific assessments, and panel interviews with team members, depending on the position, whether technical like software-engineer or data-engineer, or non-technical like account-manager or marketing-manager. Take-home exercises or case studies are common for design, analytics, and product-oriented roles. Communication is generally handled through the Greenhouse platform, with updates sent via email or an online portal. Response times vary and candidates should not assume a fixed timeline. Overall, applicants can generally expect a structured, multi-step evaluation process consistent with common industry practices for companies using this applicant tracking system.
