Job Description:

The Pharmacist oversees the daily operation of the Brown Health Services pharmacy, including prescription processing, direct patient care and patient counseling.  The pharmacist also provides medication information and support to students, providers and staff.  Position duties also include managing inventory levels to maintain adequate stock within budget levels, placing and receiving orders as well as pricing updates.

This is a per diem position providing coverage 2-3 shifts per month.  Must be available to work evenings and weekends during the academic year.

Job Qualifications 

Education and Experience

  • BS in Pharmacy required.

  • Current RI Pharmacist license required.

  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a retail pharmacy or equivalent experience.

 

Job Competencies

  • Demonstrated ability to support a community of diverse perspectives and cultures in an inclusive environment.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Patient education and social skills necessary for working with young adult population preferred.

  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in group practice.

  • Must demonstrate excellent judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Experience with pharmacy software systems and electronic health records.

  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends, primarily during the academic year.
