Job description

We're looking for a CA-barred litigation associate to join a DC/AZ law firm that initiates lawsuits against defendant companies across consumer protection and complex litigation verticals.

About Chariot Claims

Chariot Claims is an AI claims agent that helps consumers get paid for every corporate violation impacting them — data breaches, privacy violations, antitrust, UDTP, and more. Chariot has processed 125,000+ claims and works with 20+ law firms, including several among the five most active complex litigation firms in the country.

Law firms rely on Chariot to find the right claimants and handle data/operational complexity, so they can focus on what they do best: litigating.

About the Opportunity

This opportunity is ideal for a mid-career plaintiff-side litigator who wants to bring justice at scale by leveraging technology partners, notably Chariot Claims.

Primary responsibility

  • Work closely with the Mensch team to fine-comb demand letters — carefully reviewing drafts for statutory accuracy, factual citations, theory alignment, ToS conformity, and state coverage before they go out at scale

  • QA notice batches and claimant communications pre-send

Additional responsibilities

  • Partner with co-counsel to run plaintiff-side mass arbitration campaigns end-to-end: pre-suit demands, notices of dispute, AAA/JAMS filings, IDRs, and settlement negotiations

  • Serve as a substantive authority on case strategy, redlines, and filings

  • Evaluate and validate new case theories across consumer protection, privacy, UDTP, data breach, false advertising, and complex litigation verticals

  • Help refine the case evaluation playbook — design the framework, run reviews, and codify it for scale and repeatability

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Chariot's Legal Ops, Data, and Engineering teams to sharpen case pipelines and demand letter quality

Ideal background

  • JD and active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (preferably CA)

  • ~5 years of complex litigation experience at a reputable law firm — Big Law or a well-regarded complex lit / plaintiffs' boutique (mass arbitration experience not required)

  • Direct experience with one or more of: consumer protection, UDTP, privacy/wiretapping, data breach, or false advertising theories is a plus

  • Strong attention to detail and comfort doing deep, careful review of legal drafts

  • Tech-inclined; comfortable using AI tools, legal tooling, and automation to move faster

  • Deadline-driven, organized, and pragmatic; able to make calls quickly without losing rigor

  • Mission-oriented and wants to hold corporations accountable
