MKTQ427R51

As a Senior Public Relations Manager, you'll help shape the voice of one of the biggest tech companies today at the forefront of data + AI. You’ll help build our story and put Databricks at the center of conversations that matter today. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a strategic storyteller who thrives in fast-moving environments.

In this role, you'll partner directly with the Senior Director of Global Communications to lead PR programs that elevate our profile, showcase our innovations, and position our leaders at the center of enterprise AI. You'll lead product and corporate PR initiatives, including product launches, partner announcements, customer storytelling, funding news and acquisitions. You'll also use AI and agents to work faster, automate routine tasks, and push the boundaries of what a modern comms team can do.

The impact you will have:

  • Shaping communications strategy: Set the direction for Databricks' PR programs, aligning them with our business goals, product roadmaps, and company thought leadership. You will be leading product launches (e.g., Genie, Lakebase, and other platform innovations), partner PR, customer storytelling, financial announcements, and we are looking for core expertise in these areas. Success looks like consistent, high-quality coverage around every major launch and a clear narrative arc that positions Databricks as the leader in data + AI to our target audiences.
  • Generating high-quality media + new media coverage: Drive meaningful business outcomes by securing high-quality PR coverage in top-tier media outlets and new media publications, enhancing our brand recognition and credibility in the industry. Within 12 months, grow our presence in priority publications, improve sentiment in competitive coverage, and build a portfolio of earned media wins tied to product launches, partnerships, and corporate news.
  • Driving cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with marketing, product, corporate development, and executive teams to develop compelling messaging for product launches, corporate announcements and other strategic initiatives, ensuring consistency across all communications channels.
  • Use agents to raise the bar: Embrace agentic workflows to work faster and smarter. Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks, freeing up time for strategic work. The goal: a more efficient PR operation that produces better results and sets a standard for how modern comms teams operate.
  • Creating high-quality content: Oversee the creation of engaging and informative content, including press releases, blog posts, op-eds, talking points, and more, that resonates with our target audiences and supports our thought leadership.
  • Elevating executive communications: Partner with executives on our leadership and founding team to drive content and materials for their external events. The goal: executives who are recognized as leading voices in AI, with measurable increases in speaking invitations, interview requests, and social engagement.
  • Leading agency relationship: Effectively manage relationships with PR agencies in North America, ensuring they are aligned with our strategic goals and deliver high-impact results that amplify our key messages. Hold agencies accountable to measurable outcomes and continuously optimize the partnership to ensure we are getting the highest-impact results.

What we look for:

  • 8+ years of communications experience in an enterprise software or growth-stage technology company
  • Experience working with data and AI companies and technologies; experience leading product PR, corporate PR, and partner communications
  • Fluency with AI tools and a track record of using them to improve workflows, accelerate content creation, or streamline research
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling stories that resonate with diverse audiences
  • Collaborative, team player, with a proven track record of partnering cross-functionally with product, corporate development, partner marketing, legal, and executives
  • Deep understanding of the media and new media landscape, with established relationships with key journalists, editors, producers, and creators
  • Experience with crisis communications and reputation management
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
