Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Under the general direction of the Director of Fleet and Parking Maintenance, provides day to day supervision and leadership for the fleet and fuel programs.
  • Responsibilities include daily oversight and planning for Emory's automotive fleet service, maintenance contract oversight, and management of department/customer vehicle and service agreements.
  • Implements and manages policies, procedures, program guidelines and manages the customer support function of the program.
  • Manages and oversees all functions and activities related to the procurement, licensing, maintenance, repair, and operation of Emory fleet vehicles.
  • Implements and manages procedures, standards and guidelines for the procurement, operation, maintenance, and repair of all automotive and related mechanical equipment within the fleet program.
  • Manages the operation and maintenance of the motor vehicles in Emory's fleet, supervising contracted service provider and all other aspects of the program.
  • Implements established repair and maintenance standards.
  • Oversees and approves administrative processing of paperwork required in the acquisition or disposal of equipment (e.g., title, registration, license, etc.) to ensure compliance with departmental, University, state, county, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate record keeping systems to reflect activities associated with the inspection, maintenance and repair of vehicles; supervise the preparation and maintenance of associated cost, insurance, and owner records.
  • Responds to and resolve inquiries and complaints from service users, maintains good customer relations and improves fleet operational performance.
  • Oversees the vehicle emissions program to comply with federal and state mandates, focus on ways to improve fleet emissions to support Emory's sustainability goals.
  • Supervises staff within the Fleet program.
  • Performs other duties, as assigned. 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current NAFA CAFM certification

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field and three years of fleet, customer service, transportation, or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience including experience in a lead or supervisory role. 
  • Positions within this classification may require a valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record.

NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
