You'll oversee a portfolio of projects ranging from £30,000 to £10 million, manage Construction Managers and Site Managers, drive business growth, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

This is a field-based role, offering a combination of working from the office, on-site across the region, and from your home address, providing flexibility while maintaining close engagement with projects, clients and operational teams.

What You'll Be Doing

Leadership & Regional Management

  • Lead, support and develop Construction Managers and Site Managers across the region.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching and development planning.

  • Support recruitment, onboarding and succession planning to build high-performing teams.

  • Act as a role model for safety, quality and operational excellence.

Project & Operational Delivery

  • Deliver your own portfolio of commercial landscape construction projects from award to completion.

  • Oversee the wider regional programme, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

  • Manage resources, including labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.

  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex operational, commercial and contractual matters.

  • Produce RAMS and ensure robust project planning and control.

Commercial & Financial Performance

  • Take ownership of regional and project-level P&L performance.

  • Manage CVRs, forecasting, cash flow and programme performance.

  • Monitor variations and commercial opportunities to maximise project profitability.

  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities with the Operations Director.

Client Relationships & Business Growth

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships across the region.

  • Identify and convert new business opportunities, helping grow the regional order book.

  • Support tenders, framework submissions and negotiated opportunities.

  • Develop regional growth plans aligned with divisional objectives and future market opportunities.

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure the highest standards of health, safety, environmental and quality compliance.

  • Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews.

  • Promote a proactive safety culture across all teams and projects.

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the construction industry, including experience operating at Construction Manager level.

  • At least 3 years' experience in landscape construction, civil engineering or a related sector.

  • Proven experience delivering commercial construction projects through to completion.

  • Experience managing multiple projects, teams and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • Strong leadership experience, including line management of managers.

  • Excellent commercial acumen, including P&L ownership, CVRs, forecasting and margin management.

  • Working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts.

  • Strong client-facing, reporting and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-related software.

Desirable

  • Experience with PQQs, tenders and framework agreements.

  • Business development and account growth experience.

  • Leadership qualification such as ILM Level 3 or Level 5.

About You

You're a commercially minded construction professional with the ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, build strong relationships at all levels, and are passionate about developing people, delivering exceptional projects and driving regional success.
