Job description

About Hexa

Hexa (formerly eFounders) gives entrepreneurs the best chances to build outstanding companies.

We are a pioneering, world-leading startup studio born in Europe that designs, builds and launches category-defining startups. We are today recognized as one of the best venture studios in the world, with a track record comparable to tier-1 VC funds.

We have created 60+ companies (including 3 unicorns) with a combined valuation of over $5 billion among them Aircall, Spendesk, Front, Swan and Yousign. We are passionate about B2B software, particularly AI-native and agentic SaaS, fintech, climate tech, defense tech and healthtech.

Hexa is in full growth mode, with three early-stage activities: our Ventures programs Hexa Start and Hexa Sprint which help entrepreneurs go from zero to one, and a PE program, Hexa Scale, which takes majority stakes in existing startups and pushes them to new thresholds.

Hexa Scale

Today, successful software companies have two ways to support and finance their growth: the VC path, and the self-financed profitable path. For software companies that can’t or do not want to bootstrap, but haven’t managed to stay permanently on hyper-growth, the VC path is a dead-end.

At Hexa Scale, we’re on a mission to solve this: offer a new alternative to fund and scale software companies towards exponential growth.

We believe that there are great software companies, still early stages in the 2-10m€ ARR range, that sit on amazing markets with a great product, but that require a few changes to unlock their potential.

We believe that by providing them with capital and strong operational leverage, we can put them on the right trajectory, towards category-leading exponential growth. Our full manifesto.

Your role is to help us find, select, invest in, and drive those companies.

Mission

You'll join a team of four (Quentin, Augustin, Thibault and Samuel). You’ll participate in the complete deal-flow cycle in order to make 2 or 3 successful deals a year.

What you'll do

Inbound deal flow

  • Contribute to our inbound engine and marketing initiatives: white papers, blog posts, campaigns and founder community events.

  • Screen every inbound lead and make sure founders hear back from us within hours.

Outbound deal flow

  • Build and maintain our AI-powered sourcing stack: company database, internal AI tools, data scraping and outreach sequences.

  • Qualify sourced companies and run outreach with a strong response rate, so that new opportunities come in every week.

  • Drive sourcing across the team, making sure everyone is accountable for pipeline volume.

Market research

  • Perform deep-dives on the sectors we prioritize: players, products, competitive dynamics, funding and exit landscape, customer value and GTM models.

  • Source and run calls with market experts outside our network, at scale.

Deal analysis & execution

  • Analyze targets in depth: business model, product, team, growth engine and business plan.

  • Build our own version of the business plan and financial model with the team to stress-test key assumptions and risks.

  • Write investment memos and present to the investment committee.

  • Analyze cap tables and contribute to deal structuring and term negotiation.

Portfolio & value creation

  • Monitor portfolio KPIs and track the progress of each transformation plan.

  • Support founders on ad-hoc value-creation projects (pricing, GTM, M&A).

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • 2–3 years in VC, growth equity, small-cap PE, tech M&A, or a comparable analytical role (strategy consulting, IB).

  • AI fluent - You’re at home with tools like Claude Code, Cowork, or OpenAI Codex, and you enjoy building your own AI applications to solve real-world problems

  • Strong financial modeling skills and a solid grasp of SaaS metrics.

  • Fluent in English and French. An additional European language is a plus.

Mindset

  • Entrepreneurial: highly self-driven, a fast learner, a doer with a hunter mindset.

  • Deeply curious: you dig until you reach the heart of a topic.

  • Independent thinker: you form your own views on markets and deals, and you voice them.

  • Coachable: you actively seek feedback and love to learn.

  • Passionate about software and technology.

What we offer

  • Competitive package

  • Opportunity to invest in Hexa portfolio startups at a preferential rate

  • Swile meal card

  • 8 to 12 RTT days per year

  • Mobility budget: €500/year for green transportation (bike, metro, electric scooter)

  • Health insurance with 50% coverage for you and your family

  • 1% Holiday bonus

Recruitment process

  • 1 step - First call with Laure - introduction to Hexa and a check on cultural fit.

  • 2nd step - Samuel, Principal at Hexa Scale (45minutes) - mutual introduction, deep dive into the role, both projects, and our approach to management.

  • 3rd step - Thibault, Partner at Hexa Scale (45 minutes) - mutual introduction, deep dive into the role, both projects, and our approach to management.

  • Case - Samuel, Thibault et Quentin (1h30/2h at the office) - an exercise inspired by our real projects

  • Last step - Coffee with people from the Core Team

  • Reference check & Offer
