Advanced Reentry Technologies

Who We Are:

Inversion is an aerospace and defense company pioneering advanced reentry technology to enable next-generation capabilities from space. By combining high-performance materials, precision aerodynamics, and mission-driven autonomy, Inversion is transforming reentry into an operational capability for an entirely new class of missions.

The company’s highly maneuverable reentry spacecraft, Arc, is designed for rapid global cargo delivery, hypersonic testing, and other national security missions that require precise, controlled flight through the atmosphere. Arc creates an entirely new transportation domain, unlocking unprecedented speed and global reach.

Headquartered in Los Angeles, Inversion designs, manufactures, and integrates its spacecraft under one roof, enabling the company to move rapidly from concept to flight. The company is backed by leading investors including Y Combinator, Spark Capital, and Lockheed Martin Ventures, with customers across the U.S. government and commercial space industry.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Build and Integration Technician at Inversion, you will play a critical role in the assembly and manufacture of flight vehicles, test articles, and ground support equipment that are critical to our next-generation reentry vehicles. You will have an opportunity to work on and develop skills across all aspects of Inversion. Daily responsibilities could include fluid component testing, pressure testing, metal fabrication, electrical installation and troubleshooting, hydraulic diagnostics, fluid system fabrication, lifting and rigging, welding, machine operation, and more. • Debug electrical and fluid systems and identify and resolve hardware issues during assembly and testing.
  • Support lifting, rigging, welding, and other general fabrication activities as needed.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, schematics, and technical documentation.
  • Maintain a high standard of safety, quality, cleanliness, and attention to detail throughout all build and test activities.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers and technicians to support rapid build, integration, test, and iteration of hardware.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and support non-standard shifts, overtime, and weekend operations when required.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience in aerospace, military, or automotive testing, fabrication, or a related field.
  • Professional experience in debugging and conducting basic electrical tests.
  • Track record of attention to detail, good craftsmanship, and taking pride in your work.
  • Track record of safe work habits.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Must be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and maneuver in tight spaces.
  • Ability to work non-standard shifts, overtime, and weekends as required.
  • Position may require extended work hours and weekend work.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret/Top Secret security clearance.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using work orders, inventory requests, schematics, and drawings.
  • The ability to provide valuable critiques of work orders/workflow to make continuous improvement in the company.
  • Experience working with and learning new data acquisition software products.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a fast-paced and constantly adapting environment.
  • Capable of being self-sufficient with little guidance.
