Position Summary

The Assistant Director, Growth Marketing is a highly analytical, data-driven performance marketer who is passionate about leading the strategic evolution, optimization, and scaling of our top-funnel strategies. Acting as the strategic connection across all digital fronts, the incumbent will architect seamless prospective student journeys by transforming complex analytics and KPIs into unified, high-impact growth. Equally fluent in established digital media and emerging AI-driven search environments, this visionary leader will unify web, email, social, paid media, and SEO to accelerate top-of-funnel growth for both first-year and transfer undergraduate enrollment. Leverage NYU’s institutional undergraduate website and broader digital footprint as your primary conversion engines to meet ambitious global enrollment goals. This position demands an innovative problem solver eager to advance meaningful change within one of higher education’s most operationally significant marketing operations. Partner with a team of marketers responsible for content and engagement to direct external growth agencies, consultants, and tech vendors—serving not just as a relationship manager, but as a strategic partner who holds collaborators to rigorous performance metrics.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:3+ years experience in the marketing/communications fieldPreferred Experience:3+ years experience in the marketing/communications field, preferably in the context of a college or university, or agencyRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Background in website management and performance marketing with a demonstrated record of success. Experience in digital advertising, email marketing, managing web content, and data analysis and reporting. Experience with web content management systems, HTML, and Google Analytics. Experience with enterprise information systems (e.g. CRM). Excellent writing and communications skills. The ability to work collaboratively across organizational lines. Proficiency in web content development methodology, analytics software, and standards. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excited to learn about and engage Gen Z & Gen Alpha across multiple channels and contexts.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Experience with coding, web design and/or web content strategy.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000 to USD $84,700. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
