Scope of Position

The Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute and Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center are committed to providing high quality health services in detection, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Located inside the Breast Center, Hope’s Boutique serves countless breast cancer patients as well as women with other cancers who can benefit from specialty garments (forms, mastectomy bras, lingerie and swimsuits, etc.), head coverings (wigs, hats, scarves), services (hair/wig styling, makeup artistry), or its wide variety of jewelry, lotions, inspirational gifts, and other retail products. Hope’s Boutique and its specialized and talented staff comprise an integral part of the care team at the Breast Center/James Cancer Hospital.

Position Summary

The Certified Specialist will hold a license as a Bra/Prosthesis Fitter or Cosmetology/Wig Fitter

and will work closely with the Hope’s team and Breast Center/James faculty and staff to assure selection and delivery of affordable, high quality merchandise and services in a patient friendly environment. This includes breast prostheses, specialized bra or wig/head covering information, and expert technical guidance regarding product selection, fittings, and shaping/styling. The work is primarily done by appointment hence patients are scheduled in the IHIS electronic medical record.  For billing and requisite documentation, the Certified Specialist must document in IHIS and prepare reports of transactions.  The nature and timing of this work requires the ability to communicate very effectively with patients and exhibit the utmost sensitivity and compassion. The Certified Specialist will not only provide a reassuring environment, but also remain up to date on evolving product offerings and trends, and analyze continually seek to improve the quality and efficiency of service.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire:

High School diploma or GED. Certification in either WIG or Bra fitting required. One year of relevant experience required. 0 years of experience required.
