Job description

About OpenAI:
OpenAI is an AI research and deployment company. Our mission is to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. We push the boundaries of AI capabilities while working to deploy them safely and responsibly through our products. AI is an extremely powerful tool that must be created with safety and human needs at its core, and to achieve our mission, we must encompass and value the many different perspectives, voices, and experiences that form the full spectrum of humanity.

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Korea Consumer Marketing Lead to set the strategy and lead execution for one of OpenAI's most important and dynamic consumer markets. This is a senior role for a full-stack consumer marketer with deep understanding of Korean culture, audiences, platforms, and the competitive landscape - someone who can translate market insight and product momentum into sustained growth and brand relevance.

You will own integrated consumer marketing for Korea across brand, product, digital, social, creators, partnerships, and cultural moments. You will be responsible for growing adoption and attachment, shaping how OpenAI shows up locally, and representing the Korean consumer perspective in regional and global decisions. You will work closely with the Korea B2B Marketing Lead and local market leadership while maintaining clear ownership of the consumer agenda.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and execute Korea's consumer marketing strategy, grounded in priority audiences, local insight, a clear role for ChatGPT, and measurable business outcomes.

  • Lead full-funnel programs that grow weekly active users, product adoption, retention, brand preference, and advocacy.

  • Translate new product capabilities into locally resonant stories, use cases, launches, creator programs, partnerships, and cultural moments.

  • Lead local agencies, creators, platforms, and production partners to deliver culturally relevant, high-quality work across paid, owned, and earned channels.

  • Partner closely with Product Marketing, Growth, Social, Comms, Partnerships, Global Affairs, Legal, Insights, regional leadership, and Korea GTM to deliver coordinated programs.

  • Represent the voice of Korean consumers internally, ensuring local nuance and market evidence shape strategy, creative, product positioning, and execution.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of marketing experience, with a strong record of building consumer brands and driving product growth in Korea.

  • Deep understanding of Korean culture, consumer behavior, media, creators, platforms, and marketing dynamics; fluency in Korean and English.

  • Proven ability to build and execute integrated plans across brand, product, digital, social, creator/influencer, partnership, and experiential channels.

  • Strong strategic judgment paired with a hands-on operating style; comfortable prioritizing and delivering in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

  • A strong network of local agencies, creators, platforms, creatives, and production partners, with experience raising the quality bar for external work.

  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to influence senior cross-functional leaders and represent a clear local point of view.
