POSITION SPECIFICS

Penn State Berks (Reading, PA) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Engineering, beginning August 2027. Penn State Berks, a college of the Pennsylvania State University, offers the collegiality of a small college with the strength of a well-respected research university. For more information visit our website at https://berks.psu.edu/.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include teaching mechanics courses such as Dynamics, Vibrations, and Machine Design, and Capstone Design, as well as programming courses in MATLAB and LabView, and other related courses. The courses are part of the BS in Mechanical EngineeringBS in Electromechanical Engineering Technology programs and other programs in the College of Engineering. This position carries a teaching load of nine contact hours (approximately three courses) per semester. The successful candidate will conduct robust research that leads to publications in scholarly journals, will advise students and will provide service to the program, division, college, community, and profession. Penn State Berks encourages active and collaborative learning, including undergraduate research, and a commitment to supporting learners in the classroom. Berks is an emerging HSI and is committed to serving local students and engaging with the community.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants are required to have a doctorate in mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering field by August 15, 2027.
