Job Summary

Join the Purdue University Student Health Center (PUSH) as an Administrative Clerk. In this role, you will serve as the primary insurance representative for the student health insurance plan, ensuring compliance with mandatory health insurance requirements for international students. This position involves direct interaction with patients, PUSH staff, insurance representatives, and external healthcare facilities to resolve insurance-related issues and provide exceptional support.

Purdue University's Student Health (PUSH) Center,has a mission to promote a healthy campus culture by providing high quality, evidence-based, patient-focused primary healthcare through an accredited model of excellence for the Purdue University student community. Our staff of board-certified physicians and nurse practitioners provide student-oriented primary care as well as ongoing care for chronic conditions. Our single-minded focus of protecting your health and wellness allows you to focus on your educational and personal goals. We are also accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.

 

What We're Looking For

Education and Experience:

Qualified candidates will need:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two (2) years of experience in general clerical office work as well as medical insurance claims

 

Skills needed:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. 
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally. 
  • Strong organizational skills, effective problem-solving ability, excellent customer service skills and the ability to collaborate successfully. 
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and medical claims processing.

  • The hours for this position are M-F, 8am-5pm with an hour lunch.
  • Saturday hours may be required based on staffing need. Should this happen, you will receive one comp day during the week.
