Job Summary

The Professional Programs and Industry Coordinator is a strategic, dual-impact role supporting the growth and execution of the Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering’s online Master’s and Professional Master’s Programs (PMP), while coordinating high-value industry-sponsored experiential learning. This position leads recruitment, marketing coordination, and operational management of online and PMP programs, and serves as the School’s liaison for industry partners to scope, execute, and manage sponsored student projects. The role directly contributes to enrollment growth, student success, and strengthened industry engagement.

 

This position addresses critical staffing gaps caused by attrition and directly supports two strategic priorities: expansion of online/PMP programs and coordination of industry-sponsored experiential learning. It centralizes currently fragmented efforts, improves program scalability, enhances student outcomes, and strengthens industry partnerships.

What You'll Be Doing:

Online Master’s & PMP Program Strategic Development, Recruitment, and Operations

  • Develop and execute recruitment strategies for online Master’s and PMP programs in collaboration with School leadership and Purdue Online
  • Coordinate development of marketing and media assets (website, digital campaigns, video, and social presence)
  • Track and analyze enrollment pipelines, conversion rates, and engagement metrics
  • Partner with faculty to align program delivery with student expectations and workforce needs
  • Support course approval, permanent course development, and online course implementation processes
  • Manage day-to-day program operations including scheduling, logistics, and communication workflows
  • Support targeted outreach campaigns to prospective online and PMP students
  • Engage with prospective students through email, webinars, and information session

 

Industry Engagement & Project Coordination

  • Serve as the School’s primary point of contact for industry-sponsored projects in collaboration with College of Engineering Corporate Relations
  • Collaborate with corporate partners and College of Engineering Corporate Relations to define, scope, and validate high-quality experiential learning projects
  • Coordinate with faculty to ensure alignment of projects with learning outcomes and student capabilities
  • Present project opportunities to students and facilitate team-project matching
  • Act as liaison between industry sponsors and student teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Oversee timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication 

 

Communications

  • Collaborate with IE Communications Specialist to develop strategic program messaging across digital platforms
  • Coordinate internal and external communications among faculty, students, and partners
  • Support branding and storytelling efforts highlighting student success and industry partnerships

What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience in program coordination, project management, industry engagement, or higher education administration
  • Experience working with corporate partners or experiential learning programs is highly desirable
  • Equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered

 

Skills needed:

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across academic and industry stakeholders
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into accessible messaging for diverse audiences
  • Experience with digital marketing, recruitment strategies, or program operations preferred
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze enrollment and engagement metrics
  • High level of initiative, adaptability, and relationship-building capability
