Remote Recruitment is hiring a Document Controller for a UK employer, fully remote from South Africa.
Role overview
You will be the single source of truth for project and company documentation: naming, versioning, issuing and archiving so nobody works from the wrong drawing or the wrong revision. It suits someone precise who dislikes ambiguity.
You will work 09:00-17:00 UK time (11:00-19:00 SAST) from home, with equipment guidance, a proper induction and a manager who is contactable through the day. This is a permanent role, not a short contract.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain the document register and control all revisions
- Issue documents to internal teams and external parties on schedule
- Enforce naming, numbering and filing conventions
- Track approvals and keep a clean audit trail
- Archive superseded documents and manage retention
- Support audits with complete, retrievable records
What you'll need
- Two or more years in document control, records or project administration
- Experience with a document system such as SharePoint, Aconex or Viewpoint
- Strong attention to version detail and naming discipline
- Clear written English for issuing and chasing approvals
- Reliable home internet and a quiet space for UK-hours work
Nice to have
- Exposure to ISO 9001 or similar quality standards
- Experience in construction, engineering or energy projects
- Familiarity with CAD drawing registers
