Job description

About Stepful:

Stepful is a workforce platform redefining how America's largest health systems build, train, and retain their talent. Since our founding in 2021, Stepful’s trained over 32,000 practice-ready healthcare workers.

Layering onto our successful direct-to-consumer training, Stepful partners with leading healthcare institutions to address the growing national shortage of healthcare workers. We’re improving access to quality healthcare for everyone, everywhere, and improving access to healthcare career ladders for those who need them most.

Our students form the talent pipelines for major employers such as NY-Presbyterian, Mt. Sinai, HCA, Providence, CVS, and Walgreens. We have partnerships with half of the top 10 health systems in the US and are in process with many more.

Stepful is backed by Y Combinator, Reach Capital, and AlleyCorp, with a recent $55M Series C led by Oak HC/FT. We were named the #1 EdTech company in the U.S. by TIME for 2025.

Our values:

We credit much of our success to our exceptional team. We’re looking for mission-driven builders who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, and embody our four core values:

  • Care first: We do whatever it takes for our students to succeed.

  • Learn quickly: We test, learn with data, and iterate.

  • Build together: We win when we rely on each other.

  • Own it: We show up, take initiative, and show pride.

The opportunity:

Stepful College, an ABHES-accredited institution, is seeking an experienced, passionate nursing educator to join our faculty as an Instructor with our Practical Nursing (PN) and Registered Nursing (RN) programs. This is a permanent, full-time position — an exceptional opportunity for experienced nursing educators, including those currently teaching in adjunct roles, who are ready to bring their expertise to a full-time academic home.

As a full-time faculty member, you'll teach across didactic, skills lab, and/or clinical settings — bringing your nursing expertise to the classroom, the simulation lab, and partner clinical facilities throughout the St. Louis area. This role is based onsite at our Fenton, Missouri campus and requires in-person presence Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend obligations tied to program schedules.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver instruction across modalities — teach didactic coursework, facilitate skills lab sessions, and/or supervise students during clinical rotations at partner healthcare facilities throughout the St. Louis area

  • Support student success — monitor student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, and develop remediation plans for students who need additional support

  • Contribute to curriculum — collaborate with program leadership and fellow faculty to review, refine, and continuously improve PN and RN program curriculum

  • Maintain compliance — uphold Missouri State Board of Nursing standards and support program accreditation requirements through accurate documentation and consistent adherence to program policies

  • Engage the community — build and maintain positive relationships with clinical partner facilities, preceptors, and other external stakeholders

  • Participate in faculty life — attend faculty meetings, contribute to program evaluation, and support the broader academic mission of Stepful College

What you’ll bring:

  • Active, unencumbered Missouri RN license (or compact state license eligible for Missouri endorsement)

  • Master's degree in nursing — required

  • 2+ years of experience as faculty in an RN nursing education program

  • 2+ years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse

  • Demonstrated ability to teach across modalities — didactic, skills lab, and clinical settings

  • Familiarity with Missouri State Board of Nursing requirements and nursing program accreditation standards

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills — ability to connect with diverse adult learners and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and clinical partners

  • Availability Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend availability as program schedules require

Bonus points if:

  • You have specialty clinical experience in medical-surgical, OB, pediatrics, or maternal health nursing

Interview Process:

  • Intro Call with Talent Team

  • Virtual Interview with Hiring Manager

  • Case Study Assignment

  • Final Onsite Panel Interviews

Benefits and Compensation:

  • Subsidized Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plan options

  • 401(k)

  • FSA, HSA and commuter benefits

  • Learning stipend

  • Open vacation policy, including:

    • Guidance of 15 days PTO annually

    • 10 public holidays observed for 2026

The target base salary range for this opportunity is $80,000 - $95,000, and is part of a competitive total rewards package including equity and benefits. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.

Please note we do not have a bonus structure at this time so all cash compensation will come in the form of base salary. The total compensation package will also include our benefits package and an equity (ISOs) package.

Stepful is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, marital status, ancestry, disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, pregnancy, or other applicable legally protected characteristic.
