Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone's reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

At its core, Stripe is a treasury company, and the Treasury Finance team (TFIN) is key to building the Global Payments and Treasury Network (GPTN).  Within TFIN, the FX team collaborates closely with product, engineering, sales, and finance teams to manage Stripe’s Corporate and User related FX risk. This includes creating pricing models to keep pace with product expansion and developing hedging strategies to mitigate the risks to Stripe’s profitability.

Grounded in an understanding of FX market conventions and dynamics, you will partner with Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Finance to maintain operational rigor today while shaping long-term pricing and hedging strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor FX risks, execute trades , reconcile position, and attribute costs
  • Build automated risk monitors, alerting tools, and analytical models using SQL and quantitative coding to enable observability and minimize operational toil
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to guide the design and scaling of core FX infrastructure, trade execution flows, and liquidity provider integrations

  • Design hedging strategies to mitigate FX risks on financial statements while maintaining robust policies, controls, and operational runbooks

Who you are

We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 5+ years in FX, market risk, trading, quantitative research, or treasury operations, with working knowledge of FX market structure and instruments
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL to build analytics and tools, backed by a strong foundation in statistics, time series, and risk measurement

  • Practical experience using AI tools to streamline analysis and automation, paired with a critical eye for model validation and verification
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear narratives and escalate issues concisely under time pressure
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred qualifications

  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics
  • Experience with automated trading and familiarity with option theory and greeks
  • Experience building data pipelines and systems working alongside technical teams
