SUMMARY:

The Department of Educational Leadership is seeking to fill one tenure-track, open-rank faculty position with a nine-month academic appointment beginning in Spring 2027. Faculty are expected to maintain an active record of scholarly and professional engagement, collaborate effectively with others, and contribute meaningful service to the discipline, the university, and the broader community.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach master’s and doctoral level courses in educational leadership;
  • Design, conduct, and publish research to include publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Advise students;
  • Prepare syllabi;
  • Update course materials;
  • Develop curriculum;
  • Deliver instruction both online and face-to-face at any of the university’s sites; instructional duties may include teaching during the day, the evening, or Saturday;
  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to implement departmental programs;
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, public schools, and the community;
  • Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning via research, best practices, and technological applications in the classroom that include online instruction; and
  • Chair dissertations to completion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: doctorate in educational leadership or educational administration from a regionally- accredited U.S. university
  • Experience/Knowledge/Skills: 3 years of K-12 teaching experience. 3 years of experience as a public-school administrator. Experience teaching online in higher education. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of professionals; strong written and oral communication skills; commitment to high quality instruction; dedication to high standards and student success; record of or potential for scholarship; strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Ability to: multitask and work collegially as part of a team
  • Licensing/Professional Certifications: principal certification
  • Physical Requirements: not applicable

PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILL/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience teaching in a graduate program
  • Experience chairing dissertations to completion
  • Superintendent Certification and Experience
  • Record of publication
