Provides direct patient care, patient evaluation, and treatment, under the supervision of the Director of Student Health Services. Maintains Standards of Professional Nursing. Maintains and monitors patient records, assesses health care needs and changes, and provides patient education.

Responsible for using health care team approach to provide triage of patients, physical assessment and treatment, including administration of medications and therapy as directed by the Physician and Advance Practice Nurses. Is jointly responsible for the operation and maintenance of the clinic, which includes inventory and requisition of medical supplies, medications and equipment. Provides preventative education programs to students; i.e. residence life programs, student organizations. Serves as a Campus Security Authority (CSA).

This position Work hours are Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as work requirements indicate.


Responsibilities

  • 70% The RN provides direct patient care, patient evaluation and treatment, under the supervision of the Director of Student Health Services. Standards of Professional Nursing will be maintained.

  • 10% The RN maintains and monitors patient records, assesses health care needs and changes and provides patient education.

  • 8% The RN is responsible for using health care team approach to provide triage of patients, physical assessment and treatment, including administration of medications and therapy as directed by the Physician and Advance Practice Nurses.

  • 6% The RN is jointly responsible for the operation and maintenance of the clinic, which includes inventory and requisition of medical supplies, medications and equipment. It also includes maintaining said inventory and also maintaining and operation of the autoclave for sterile instruments/supplies.

  • 5% The RN provides preventative education programs to students; i.e. residence life programs, student organizations.

  • 1% The RN also assists in maintaining the Web page. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Four years of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and techniques. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR).

Registrations, Certifications, and Licenses:
Must be licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse. Licensed RN and CPR certified.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Salary Range:

The target base annual salary range is $59,370 up to $61,498.80 and may be negotiable based on funding availability and candidate experience/skillset in relation to the minimum requirements of this position.
