Job Summary
The successful applicant will provide intake psychosocial assessments for the MyHEARTSMAP-Chinese Study. MyHEARTSMAP-Chinese is a culturally adapted digital mental health self-assessment tool for Chinese youth in Canada, which allows youth and/or their parents to self-identify any support needs across 10 psychosocial areas. This research study aims to evaluate the predictive validity of MyHEARTSMAP-Chinese compared to a mental health care provider’s assessment. The successful applicant will conduct a standard assessment without knowledge of the MyHEARTSMAP-Chinese results, then complete a digital data collection form to report any identified psychosocial issues. All assessments will be conducted virtually with the participant. The successful applicant must have a flexible schedule as assessments may take place in evenings or weekends.

Position requires a working relationship with other Research staff. Accepts direction from Study Coordinator and ultimately accountable to the Principal Investigator. This position requires close interaction with research assistants and study subjects.

- Conducting standard intake psychosocial assessments with study participants

- Collecting and inputting data into an online REDCap database and report any identified psychosocial issues after assessments are complete

Professionalism is of the utmost importance. The person will also be required to exercise good judgment and discretion while using confidential information.

Supervision Received
Supervision will be provided by the PI, who is a physician, and the research coordinator. The incumbents act independently within established protocols and ethical guidelines. What applying to University of British Columbia (Staff) usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through workday for roles at University of British Columbia can generally expect a structured online application requiring a profile, resume upload, and completion of standardized fields that may duplicate resume content. Given the breadth of roles posted, from trades and hospitality to research and administrative positions, screening criteria likely vary by department. Applicants may encounter knockout questions related to qualifications, work eligibility, or availability. After submission, response times vary, and candidates should not assume immediate feedback. The process may include multiple stages such as recruiter screening, hiring manager conversations, and possibly panel or skills-based assessments depending on the position. Workday systems typically allow candidates to track application status through a portal. It is commonly recommended that applicants tailor materials to each posting and ensure consistency between resume and application form entries, as workday systems often parse both for review.
