The University of Miami's Division of Development and Alumni Relations has an exciting opportunity for a temporary full time Sr. Gift Services Representative to work in Coral Gables, FL.


The Senior Gift Services Representative processes and posts financial transactions related to fundraising efforts, into the applicable software, in an accurate and timely manner. This position is responsible for varied functions including- managing/reconciling gifts and revenue transactions, acknowledging donor gifts, and maintaining an accurate database with correct donor/prospect biographical information. The incumbent will serve as primary contact for all departments and areas within the division and University regarding financial transactions related to fundraising.

Core responsibilities:

  • Processes financial transactions related to fundraising activities of all values and types into the applicable software system.
  • Posts transactions following University of Miami policies and procedures including IRS regulations, Controller’s restrictions, C.A.S.E. standards and new campaign policies.
  • Manages and imports complex gift processing transactions.
  • Receives all credit card transactions related to fundraising activities of all values. Contacts appropriate department/schools for rejected credit card transactions.
  • Examines and verifies the accuracy of the donor’s designation of the pledge using backup documentation.
  • Updates bio-demographic records during gift posting and regularly schedules updates outside of gift position.
  • Inputs payroll deduction gifts with a high level of accuracy and speed.
  • Reviews and updates monthly quality control reports to maintain database accuracy and data integrity.
  • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.

Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
