Responsibilities:

General Purpose: Maintains 24 hour-a-day accountability for all patient care and nursing activities on assigned outpatient unit. Oversees and directs unit activities including standards development, human resource management, assessment of resource needs and utilization, staff development and communication within nursing practice as well as among other disciplines and departments. Oversees all performance improvement activities at the unit level and participates in committees at all levels within the institution.

The Department of Orthopaedics is looking for the best to join our nursing leadership team as a Nurse Manager. The NM is responsible for the daily operations of multiple ambulatory clinics in the Department of Orthopaedics across the Rochester area, alongside a team of assistant nurse managers. Seeking a highly motivated individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on the use of technology in day-to-day operations. The primary objectives for this position are to ensure that all patients receive care consistent with the Medicine of the Highest Order standards, that patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively, and that the staff is recognized for their efforts. The NM is responsible for the direct management of the clinical team including ANMs,  RNs, LPNs, ATCs, and Ambulatory Techs. Serves as a member of the Orthopaedic leadership team reporting to the Assistant Director and works closely with Nursing Practice to ensure compliance with all established standards. Works collaboratively with other NM within the department as well (Ortho Procedure Suite and AO Clinic Tower). The Nurse Manager directs all aspects of patient care, which includes managing nursing personnel and material resources in a cost-effective manner, unit planning and the initiation of innovative clinical and management practices with emphasis on retention strategies and recruitment efforts. Registered Professional Nurse, Bachelor’s degree, 3-5 years of experience in a health care administrative role in an organization of similar size and complexity with a significant level of accomplishment. Master’s degree required within 5 years of date of hire and an active New York State license in good standing. All interested applicants submit resume to Nursing Recruitment, Box 619-19.
