Responsibilities:

General Purpose: Accountable for provision of competent direct patient care based on established standards. Contributes to unit activities and supports enhancement of the care delivery system at the unit level. Supports peers in the delivery of patient care services and assumes an expanded role which may include charge nurse, preceptor, and committee member responsibilities.

PT (30 hours) position available

Exciting opportunity to work in a new role within the department of Otolaryngology. Hybrid position responsible for managing quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives for the department as well and assist in phone triage. The QA/QI nurse will work directly with physicians and nursing leadership.  Ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care by overseeing the quality assurance and quality improvement processes within healthcare facility. Monitors, evaluates, and optimizes patient outcomes by implementing effective quality assurance and improvement initiatives. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to identify areas for enhancement, develop strategies for improvement, and measure the effectiveness of interventions. Drives a culture of excellence, safety, and patient-centered care through data analysis, performance metrics tracking, and continuous evaluation. Responsible for managing both physician and nursing driven initiatives in the ambulatory and inpatient settings. Triage responsibilities include management of patient phone calls/triage, providing patient education on pre and post-surgical care, coordination of care, assisting with procedural activity, and facilitating patient throughput. The patient population is ambulatory but spans non-acute to acute visit needs.  Requires established base of nursing competency in assessment and evaluation.  Must be a team player with excellent communication and organizational skills. In person and remote with flexible hours. Interested candidates should have a working knowledge of RL solutions and experience with data collection and entry. At least 3 years nursing with a NYS nursing license required.
