Job Details:

Position Summary

The Department of Finance is seeking a Graduate Assistant to proctor exams for finance courses. Responsibilities include monitoring exam sessions (in-person and/or online), verifying student identification, distributing and collecting exam materials, enforcing academic integrity policies, and reporting any irregularities to the course instructor. Additional duties may include assisting with exam logistics and scheduling as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Current UT Austin graduate student enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and sound judgment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and enforce academic integrity standards
  • Reliable availability during scheduled exam periods, including some evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience proctoring exams or in a similar academic support role
  • Familiarity with online exam platforms (e.g., Canvas, Examity, Proctorio)
  • Background or coursework in Finance or a related field

Working Conditions

  • Classroom or testing center environment; some remote/online proctoring may be required
  • Hours vary based on exam schedules, including possible evenings and weekends
  • Schedule to be determined with supervisor
