Your opportunity:
At the Department of Management, we pride ourselves on educating and preparing students for leadership positions in the world of business. With our wide range of specializations and course offerings, we give students the opportunity to acquire critical skills and the expertise required for successful careers. Our students learn best practices and explore current issues, all within an environment of collegiality and professionalism. This role will work to support the professional development of our students and connect them appropriately to programming offered both internally through our Professional Skills Development Program as well as externally. 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting detailed labour market analysis to inform program and partnership development
  • Developing and revising business methods that support employment services activities and objectives
  • Developing communications plans to support departmental objectives
  • Developing content for marketing and/or promotional materials
  • Developing and conducting educational workshops and seminars
  • Promoting programs at recruitment events
  • Advising and coaching students on developing career-related goals.
  • Consulting with stakeholders on the development of tailored programming needs.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three years related experience.
  • Experience advising and coaching students on professional and career development.
  • Experience coordinating programs and initiatives for undergraduate students.
  • Experience using Symplicity for student programming.
  • Experience collaborating with student leaders, campus partners, and faculty.
  • Experience with event planning and execution, and delivering presentations.
  • Excellent understanding of career development theory, practice and resources for post-secondary students.
  • Strong data management and report compilation skills
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, project management and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with accurate grammar, spelling and proofreading.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel).
