The Department of French seeks 1 sessional lecturer for FSL102H1F Elementary French II (0.5 FCE) from September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026.
Course description
An intensive basic course in spoken and written French for students who have minimal French experience.

Class schedule: LEC0101 Monday 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM; Wednesday 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Sessional dates of appointment: September 1, 2026 – December 31, 2026
Salary: (including vacation pay)
Sessional Lecturer I – $9,820.70
Sessional Lecturer I, Long Term – $10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II – $10,510.04
Sessional Lecturer II, Long Term - $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III – $10,760.28
Sessional Lecturer III, Long Term - $11,060.36

Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD in French Studies or a related field
• Experience teaching language courses at the university level
• Strong expertise in course design, planning, and preparation of lecture materials
• Fluency in French and English
Preferred Qualifications:
• Extensive knowledge of Quercus, specifically its Test Manager and communication tools
• Experience teaching a language course at the beginner level
• Experience with course coordination
Description of Duties:
• Responsible for all aspects of delivering a university credit course, including:
• Teaching a French language course
• Preparing all course materials, including tests and assignments
• Holding office hours and maintaining regular email communication with students
• Grading tests and assignments
• Meeting with your supervisor as required.
