UW Medical Center-Northwest - Medical-Surgical Unit at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning has an outstanding opportunity for a Rotating Shift (days and nights) Registered Nurse.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 36 hours per week

  • 3x12 shift schedule

  • Must be available to work a rotating mix of day shifts (7:00am-7:30pm) and night shifts (7:00pm-7:30am)

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

  • The Medical-Surgical Unit at the Center for Behavioral Health and Learning supports a wide range of individuals, including general acute care patients, telemetry monitoring patients, and patients with multiple behavioral health comorbidities.

  • We have 50 beds split between two floors. This position will specifically work on our third floor, which has 25 beds.

  • Our patients receive holistic treatment, addressing their physical, medical, and mental health needs.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide medical-surgical care to behavioral health patients, including those with psychiatric comorbidities

  • Ensure patient safety protocols are followed, including restraint protocols

  • Administer oral and injectable medications

  • Monitor vital signs using telemetry equipment

  • Assess and manage pain

  • Provide education and discharge instructions to patients and their families

  • Provide personalized care with compassion, dignity, and respect

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 year of recent medical-surgical RN work experience

  • Active BLS

  • Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$46.97 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$86.17 hourly

Other Compensation:

BSN (or higher) premium - $1.00/hour
Certification premium - $1.25/hour
Night premium - $5.00/hour
Weekend premium - $4.00/hour
Sunday night premium - $3.00/hour
Overtime pay
