The Department of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking to fill two full-time tenured or tenure-track, open rank faculty positions. Duties include advancing a robust program of research while maintaining a strong commitment to teaching and mentorship along with service to the department, university, profession, and community. The standard teaching load is 4 courses per year (2 courses per semester). The anticipated start date for the 9-month annual appointment is August 23rd, 2027.

The Helen Bader School of Social Welfare is comprised of the Department of Social Work and the Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology. The Department of Criminal Justice & Criminology offers a BS and an MS, as well as jointly offering a PhD in Social Welfare with the Department of Social Work. The Department is known for its commitment to collaborative partnerships with community and governmental organizations in southeast Wisconsin and beyond through research and student engagement.
Compensation:
The target hiring salary is a minimum of $88,000 on a 9-month, academic basis. Final salary offer will be contingent upon rank and skills and abilities demonstrated throughout the selection process.
Required Qualifications:
Qualified applicants must hold a PhD/Doctorate in social work or a related field. Applicants who are ABD will be considered if completion of the degree is imminent (received on or before the start date of the position).
Preferred Qualifications:
MSW degree
Demonstrated ability to produce significant research
Demonstrated ability to successfully teach undergraduate and graduate courses
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across disciplines and with community partners
