Verdacert is a US-based certified translation company working in more than 100 languages, from Arabic, Farsi, Dari, Pashto, Urdu, and Turkish to Spanish and Chinese, for immigration, legal, university, and medical use. We're looking for a Community Marketing Intern to help people where they already ask for help: Reddit, Quora, Facebook groups, and immigration and study-abroad forums. Answering a stranger's question about a USCIS translation well is the best marketing we have, and you'll learn how to do it honestly and at scale.
About the internship
- Unpaid internship for a fixed term of 4 months, fully remote, open to applicants based in the United States
- Part-time and flexible, around 10 to 15 hours a week, scheduled around your classes or other commitments
- Built around your learning: a weekly one-on-one with a mentor on our team and feedback on everything you make
- We will complete the paperwork for academic credit wherever your school offers it
- You keep a portfolio of published work, and receive a reference letter when you complete the internship
- There is no expectation of a job at the end of the internship
What you will learn and do
- Find the communities where people ask about certified translation, visas, credential evaluation, and studying or working in the US
- Write genuinely useful answers, always disclosing that you work with Verdacert and following each community's own rules on self-promotion
- Keep a log of the questions people ask most, which feeds our guides and FAQ
- Learn to measure which communities and answers bring real visitors, using our analytics
- Help draft a short playbook for how Verdacert takes part in online communities
Who we are looking for
- A current student or recent graduate in marketing, communications, or a related field
- Someone who already spends time on Reddit or forums and understands their norms
- Patient, friendly, accurate writing: you would rather say "I don't know" than guess
- Comfort with the rule that we never post fake reviews, use sockpuppet accounts, or hide who we are
Nice to have
- Experience moderating or being active in an online community
- Speaking a second language, or personal experience with immigration paperwork
