Verdacert is a US-based certified translation company specializing in MENA-region civil documents - birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, academic transcripts, and medical records - for USCIS, US courts, universities, and medical providers. We're looking for a Legal Albanian Translator to join our reviewer network, translating and certifying Albanian-language documents for immigration and legal filings.
What you'll do
- Translate civil and legal documents from Albanian into English, including birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, academic transcripts, and police clearances
- Review AI-generated first-draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names, dates, and numbers
- Sign certification statements confirming that translations are true, complete, and accurate representations of the source documents
- Apply correct transliteration conventions for Albanian proper nouns and place names to match filing requirements
- Preserve original document layout and formatting in the certified translation
- Meet defined turnaround windows, including standard, express, and rush delivery timelines
What we're looking for
- Native or near-native fluency in Albanian and English
- Demonstrated experience translating legal or civil documents, ideally for immigration, court, or government use
- Familiarity with certified translation standards and certification statement requirements
- Strong attention to detail with names, dates, registry numbers, and official seals
- Ability to work independently and meet tight, document-specific deadlines
- Comfort reviewing AI-assisted draft translations rather than translating solely from scratch
Nice to have
- Experience translating documents from Albanian civil registries, courts, or ministries
- Prior work as a certified or sworn translator for USCIS or similar government filings
- Familiarity with Kosovo and Albanian document conventions and regional dialect variation
