Job descriptionContract

Verdacert provides USCIS-certified translations for immigration filings, court proceedings, university applications, and medical documentation, with a focus on native-speaker review and fast turnaround. We're looking for a Legal Czech Translator to join our reviewer network, producing certified English-to-Czech and Czech-to-English translations of legal and civil documents that meet USCIS and court standards for accuracy and completeness.

What you'll do

  • Translate legal, civil, and personal documents (birth certificates, court records, contracts, affidavits, transcripts, and similar) between Czech and English
  • Review machine-generated first drafts for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names, dates, and numbers
  • Sign certification statements confirming the translation is true, complete, and accurate, in a format that satisfies 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)
  • Preserve original document layout and formatting in the translated output
  • Flag ambiguous source content, illegible text, or inconsistencies for clarification before certifying
  • Meet turnaround commitments ranging from standard to rush delivery windows

What we're looking for

  • Native or near-native fluency in Czech and English
  • Demonstrated experience translating legal, immigration, or official civil documents
  • Familiarity with Czech civil registry documents, court records, and official document conventions
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly with proper nouns, dates, and numerical data
  • Ability to work independently and meet firm deadlines, including rush requests
  • Comfort reviewing and correcting machine-translated drafts rather than translating from scratch every time

Nice to have

  • Prior experience providing certified translations for USCIS or immigration attorneys
  • Experience with apostille or notarization processes for Czech documents
  • Familiarity with academic transcript formatting (e.g., WES-compatible standards)
