Verdacert provides USCIS-certified translation services, with native-speaker reviewers producing signed certification statements that meet 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3) for immigration, legal, academic, and medical documents. We are looking for a Legal Dinka Translator to join our review pipeline, translating and certifying Dinka-language documents for use in immigration filings, court proceedings, and other official submissions.
What you'll do
- Translate legal, civil, and personal documents between Dinka and English, including birth certificates, court records, affidavits, and immigration filings
- Review machine-generated draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and faithful transliteration of names and terms
- Sign certification statements attesting to the accuracy and completeness of each translation
- Preserve original document layout and formatting in the certified translation
- Flag ambiguous source content, illegible text, or inconsistencies to the project lead
- Meet delivery deadlines ranging from 14 hours to 48 hours depending on order type
What we're looking for
- Native or near-native fluency in Dinka and professional fluency in English
- Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or immigration-related documents
- Strong attention to detail, particularly with names, dates, and numerical data
- Familiarity with certified translation standards and certification statement requirements
- Ability to work independently and meet tight, deadline-driven turnaround windows
- Comfortable reviewing documents in PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC, or TIFF formats
Nice to have
- Prior experience with USCIS filing types such as I-130, I-485, I-589, or N-400
- Familiarity with South Sudanese or East African civil document conventions
- Experience working with translation review platforms or CAT tools
