Legal Thai Translator

Verdacert provides certified translation services for immigration, legal, and medical documents, with particular depth in MENA-region languages and growing coverage across 34+ additional languages, including Thai. We are looking for a Legal Thai Translator to join our reviewer network, producing and certifying accurate English translations of Thai-language civil, legal, and academic documents for use in USCIS filings, US courts, universities, and medical settings.

What you'll do

• Translate Thai-language documents into English, including birth certificates, marriage records, court documents, police clearances, academic transcripts, and related civil records
• Review and edit AI-generated first-draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and fidelity to the source document
• Apply correct transliteration of Thai names and proper nouns in line with client-specified spellings (e.g., matching immigration form entries)
• Sign and issue certification statements attesting to the accuracy and completeness of each translation, in a form suitable for USCIS and other institutional acceptance
• Preserve original document layout and formatting in the translated output
• Communicate with internal reviewers or project coordinators on document questions, ambiguous source text, or unusual formats

What we're looking for

• Native or near-native fluency in Thai and professional fluency in English
• Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or official documents from Thai to English
• Strong understanding of Thai civil registry documents, court records, and academic credentialing conventions
• Familiarity with certified translation standards and certification statement requirements (e.g., for immigration or court use)
• Excellent attention to detail, especially with names, dates, numbers, and official seals
• Ability to work within defined turnaround windows (documents are typically delivered in 14-48 hours)

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a certified or sworn translator
• Familiarity with USCIS translation requirements or US court document standards
• Experience translating for adjacent use cases such as academic admissions, medical records, or patent filings
