Verdacert is a US-based certified translation service specializing in MENA-region and other civil documents for immigration, court, university, and medical use. Every translation is drafted and then reviewed by a native-speaker linguist before release, with a signed certification statement meeting USCIS requirements (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)). We're looking for a Legal Uzbek Translator to join our reviewer network and handle Uzbek-language civil, court, and immigration documents with the accuracy and rigor these filings demand.
What you'll do
- Translate legal and civil documents from Uzbek into English (and occasionally English into Uzbek), including birth and marriage certificates, court records, academic transcripts, and immigration filings
- Review AI-generated first-draft translations for accuracy, completeness, and faithfulness to the source document
- Apply correct transliteration of names, dates, and numbers consistent with USCIS filing conventions
- Sign certification statements attesting to the accuracy and completeness of each translation
- Preserve original document layout and formatting in the certified output
- Flag documents with ambiguous terminology, regional dialect variation, or unclear source content for additional review
What we're looking for
- Native or near-native fluency in Uzbek and English
- Demonstrated experience translating legal, civil, or court documents
- Strong knowledge of Uzbek civil registry, court, and academic document conventions
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially with names, dates, and numeric data
- Ability to work within defined turnaround windows (as fast as 14-48 hours per document)
- Comfort working with digital document handling tools and secure file systems
Nice to have
- Prior experience with USCIS-certified translation requirements
- Familiarity with Karakalpak or Tajik as additional working languages
- Background in legal, paralegal, or court interpreting work
