Overview
1. Basic knowledge of Electronic Theatre Control (ETC) platform and current system and/or Yamaha QL Series of Sound Consoles, and AoIP.
2. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively w/faculty, staff, students, interns, guest artists and other professionals representing a wide diversity of personalities. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team setting.
3. Calm and collected under pressure with a strongly demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, follow schedules, and follow rapid instructions. Demonstrated ability to receive and operate cues during technical rehearsals and performance.
4. Knowledge of job-related health and safety issues and ability to identify potential hazards.


Required Skills and Abilities
Valid drivers’ license.


Preferred Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of ETC Lighting controls, LED and Moving light fixtures (specifically ETC, High End, and 
Martin).
Working knowledge of national and local electric codes, electrical theory and application. 
Knowledge of theatrical rigging and experience with JR Clancy Scene Control. Professional and/or 
college-level exp. as theatrical electrician,
 audio engineer, or projectionist.
 

Principal Responsibilities

1.  Serves as Light Board Operator for productions as assigned.2.  Reads light plots.3.  Uses a variety of basic tools, processes, materials, and equipment in completing assigned projects.4.  Assists with lighting equipment at load-in, notes sessions, technical rehearsals and strike of productions.5.  Assists with implementation of special lighting effects.6.  Assists in maintenance and repair of electric’s shop, tools, and equipment.7.  Assists with implementation of overhead rigging for lighting equipment.8.  Transports equipment.9.  Assists in maintaining the safety and efficiency of lighting storage and workspaces.10. Attends appropriate meetings.11. Assists related departments at load-in, notes sessions, technical rehearsals, and strike of productions.12. Works occasional nights, weekends and holidays.13. May perform other duties as assigned. Required Education and Experience Two years of related work experience and a high school level education; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
