Become a part of something transformative. Emory University is a premier academic institution that champions clinical excellence, pioneering research, and world-class training. The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is committed to cultivating a healthy, collaborative, and sustainable environment where faculty thrive across all career stages. We invite applications and nominations for a strategic, collaborative leader to serve as Division Director for Breast Imaging.

Position Overview

The Division Director will provide strategic, clinical, operational, and academic leadership for one of the nation’s largest and most comprehensive breast imaging divisions. The Director will partner with clinical and operational leaders across the enterprise to guide the continued growth of breast imaging and advance access, quality, patient experience, and innovation across the network. The Director will also strengthen multidisciplinary collaboration with the Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University (Georgia’s only NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Center) and champion innovative research and education.

About the Division & Enterprise

  • Clinical Network: The Breast Imaging Division comprises 23 subspecialty-trained faculty delivering care across seven Emory Healthcare breast imaging centers, regional ambulatory sites, and the breast imaging center at Grady Health System.
  • Education & Training: Emory Radiology hosts 78 residents and 55 fellows, with the Breast Imaging Division recruiting six fellows annually into one of the country's most sought-after programs.
  • Research & Innovation: Multidisciplinary teams collaborate closely with Winship Cancer Institute, the Emory/Georgia Tech Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, and national cancer research consortia to drive imaging innovation, AI translational integration, and clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction, clinical operational oversight, and quality/safety governance for breast imaging across the Emory Healthcare enterprise and Grady Health System.
  • Oversee breast imaging quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across clinical sites, collaborating with designated site-level Lead Interpreting Physicians (LIPs) to ensure adherence to MQSA/FDA requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of ACR accreditations and Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE) designations, as applicable, across the clinical network.
  • Recruit, retain, mentor, and promote a diverse cohort of academic faculty, fellows, and residents.
  • Advance multidisciplinary clinical operations and clinical research workflows alongside breast surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and pathology.
  • Champion continuous quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and operational efficiency across distributed clinical sites.

Qualifications

  • M.D., D.O., or foreign equivalent with American Board of Radiology (ABR) certification (or equivalent).
  • Completion of a subspecialty fellowship in Breast Imaging.
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Georgia.
  • Demonstrated track record of clinical excellence and academic, clinical, or operational leadership.
  • Professional qualifications and leadership experience appropriate for faculty appointment at Emory University School of Medicine.

Application Process

Interested candidates should submit a curriculum vitae and a letter of interest detailing their leadership philosophy, academic background, and clinical focus.
