JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Reporting to the Electronic Security System Manager within the Emory Police Department, this position is responsible for installation, service, repair and maintenance of computer-based integrated electronic security and control systems including electronic access control systems, CCTV systems, alarm systems and other supportive devices.
- Provides project management coordination through Emory shops and/or outside contractors.
- Interprets building blue prints and works with the Emory design team in programming new construction requirements.
- Ensures warranty compliance for new installations.
- Works with customer department representatives to provide security and safety recommendations.
- Trains staff on the proper use of equipment.
- Maintains electronic security system records and files.
- Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience working with electronic security system installation, operations, maintenance, and management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of security camera systems, card access systems, and intrusion alarm systems.
- Familiar with the application of electronic technology to law enforcement.
- Comprehensive skills in the installation, operation and maintenance of security systems.
- Knowledge of the evaluation of construction blueprint.
- Familiar with network video recorders and local digital video recorders.
- Familiar with electric lock hardware installation.
- Low voltage electrical license desired.
- A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record are required.
- Positions within this classification may require the ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location; working remote is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
