Job description

Mayflower is a technology company building large-scale entertainment products for a global audience. Our platforms serve millions of users worldwide and rank among the top-50 most visited websites globally. For more than 10 years, we've been creating reliable, high-performance solutions at the intersection of product, engineering, and entertainment.

As a User Community Manager you will build, cultivate, and moderate trusted user communities around our platform (including Reddit and Discord) to increase platform value and convert user feedback into structured insights. This role acts as a strategic bridge between users and internal teams (Product, UX, Marketing, Support) to highlight recurring needs, support research, and protect the platform by appropriately escalating safety, risk, and reputational issues.

Job Responsibilities

  • Community Management & Moderation:

    • Manage and moderate the official subreddit and official user spaces (enforcing rules, removing spam/harassment/scams, and de-escalating conflict).

    • Build an inclusive, trusted environment through recurring Q&As, AMAs, polls, guides, and pinned announcements.

    • Evaluate, structure, and potentially launch/moderate a dedicated Discord community if strategically aligned.

  • User Research & Insight Reporting:

    • Establish a representative user research pool for surveys, interviews, focus groups, and beta testing.

    • Synthesize community discussions and qualitative feedback into structured sentiment reports and actionable recommendations for Product, UX, and Marketing.

    • Close the feedback loop by communicating product updates and outcomes back to the community.

  • Cross-Functional Support & Risk Mitigation:

    • Support product and campaign launches via proactive community messaging, user education, and reaction monitoring.

    • Monitor emerging reputational, fraud, and legal risks, routing individual account/technical cases to Support, Moderation, Risk, and Legal via established escalation pathways.

You will thrive if you have…

Must-haves:

  • Experience: 2+ years in community management, trust & safety, community operations, or user research—specifically managing platforms like Reddit or Discord.

  • Communication & Judgment: Exceptional written English skills with strong conflict de-escalation, high emotional maturity, sound moderation judgment, and strict personal/professional boundaries.

  • Analytical Approach: Demonstrated ability to turn qualitative user feedback into structured data, clear themes, and actionable product insights.

  • Operations & Safety: Strong privacy and escalation judgment for sensitive/regulatory issues, combined with the organization to operate independently across global, multi-cultural user bases.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Prior experience in adult entertainment, creator economy, social platforms, gaming, or high-risk consumer industries.

  • Experience launching/scaling a Reddit or Discord community from scratch, or building formal ambassador/beta program pools.

  • Familiarity with social listening, analytics, CRM, or feedback management tools.

  • Multilingual skills or experience managing global, localized communities.

  • Fluency in Russian.

What applying to Mayflower usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through recruitee for roles at Mayflower can generally expect an online application involving a resume submission and possibly some screening questions or a short form. Recruitee is commonly used by companies to manage candidate pipelines, so applicants may receive automated confirmation emails and status updates as they move through stages. The process may include multiple stages such as an initial recruiter or HR screen, followed by hiring manager conversations, and potentially skills-based or take-home assessments depending on the role type, such as technical, design, or analytical positions. Communication style and response times vary by employer, even within the same ATS, so candidates should not assume a fixed timeline. It is typically advisable to prepare a clear, tailored application and follow up politely if no update is received after a reasonable period.”
