Position Summary

McGill’s Desautels Faculty of Management invites applications for one Ranked Contractual Academic Staff (CAS) position jointly in the Operations Management (OM) and Finance Areas. Note that this is not a tenure-track position. The start date for the appointment will be January 1 2027. With the exception of Ranked CAS who are appointed at the rank of Professor, a Ranked CAS is appointed to an initial term of one, two or three years; the contract is renewable. The position is open to candidates with a PhD in Operations Research, Operations Management, Statistics, Economics, Finance or a related field, with at least three years of teaching experience. We have a particular interest in candidates whose teaching connects to the Faculty priority area of Analytics, AI & Advanced Digital Technologies.

Successful candidates should have the ability to teach courses in the areas of business statistics, operations management, and finance, principally to an undergraduate audience, and contribute to the administration of the Areas and Faculty. The largest share of the teaching load will be in business statistics, with the remaining sections allocated across Operations Management and Finance courses depending on teaching needs in a given academic year. This position requires teaching up to 8 course sections per academic year. We have a preference for candidates with a teaching portfolio and an established record in teaching business statistics related courses, and/or investments and corporate finance related courses, principally at the undergraduate level. McGill University is an English-language university where teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing; but knowledge of French or a willingness to learn French is desirable.
