Job description

About Middesk:

Middesk is building the data and intelligence infrastructure that helps businesses work together with confidence. We started by creating a comprehensive platform for understanding businesses, bringing together authoritative and proprietary data to help customers verify business identities, onboard customers faster, and manage risk throughout the customer lifecycle.

Today, Middesk is used by more than 700 banks and fintechs, and in 2025 we verified more than 7 million companies. We've also expanded beyond business verification to help companies form, register, manage, and maintain their businesses, supporting more than 50,000 companies in setting up over 100,000 accounts required to hire employees, run payroll, and stay compliant.

Middesk came out of Y Combinator, and is backed by Sequoia Capital, Accel, Insight Partners, and Canapi. We're proud to be named on the Forbes Fintech 50 and Best Startup Employers lists.

The Role:

Middesk’s Entity Management business helps our customers to understand, manage and maintain their business information and relationships. The Entity Operations Fulfillment team is responsible for establishing and maintaining our customer’s relationships with state agencies by creating online accounts, submitting registrations and monitoring communications. To help our customers focus on growing their own businesses and maintain state employment compliance, we remove both complexity and operational burden from our customers by guiding them through the payroll tax registration process.

In this role, you will join a team of 8 ops analysts supporting our Entity Management product line. Your day to day will be reviewing and submitting tax registrations, working with customers to resolve poor data issues, and reviewing state notifications. You will develop expertise in the nuances of state registrations and leverage that expertise to rapidly and accurately complete the outlined tasks on behalf of our customers. Our Entity Management business line is growing and we’re excited to bring on board new team members that are excited to accelerate this growth. While this is a queue-based, highly operational role, there will be opportunities to support projects based on business need.

Please Note: This is a temporary position, expected to extend through December 31, 2026, with the potential to extend based on business needs. There is an expectation of 4 days per week in our NYC office. Candidates should be based within a commutable distance, as we believe in the value of in-person collaboration and building strong team connections.

What You'll Do:

  • Become an expert in the nuances of state registrations and transfers as you quickly and accurately process and submit state registrations.

  • Follow up with customers on inaccuracies in the application to ensure that we accurately and rapidly complete their state registrations.

  • Contact state agencies for follow up on untimely correspondences or clarify evolving state registration requirements.

  • Collaborate with the broader Entity Management Team to create and optimize processes for supporting new features and fulfillment streams by identifying gaps and needs of the internal team and our customers.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize personal work streams.

  • Ability to complete high volumes of various tasks and meet or exceed fulfillment quotas while maintaining accuracy.

  • Are process and solution-oriented, work with a high attention to detail, and are comfortable making decisions with available resources.

  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic environment.

  • Are hungry and coachable with an insatiable appetite for learning.

  • A proactive and problem-solving mindset; you view obstacles as an opportunity for growth and impact.

  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
