Position Summary

The Associate Director, Wireless Infrastructure manages the daily operations of NYU's local and global wireless network, including the design, implementation, and maintenance of hardware and software. Manage the wireless engineering staff and provide technical guidance, training, and support. Develop and implement project initiatives to sustain network stability and future growth for the NYU campus and global sites’ wireless networks. Develop short and long-term strategic plans for the wireless network including evaluating and recommending the purchase of new technical products and services. Technical tasks include equipment installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrades, configuration of software, and developing scripts and programs to automate wireless network deployment. Ensure availability and reliability of WiFi infrastructure security of wireless infrastructure in collaboration with GOIS. Provide timely resolution of wifi incidents in collaboration with users, Service Desk, and network engineering.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Required Experience:7+ years relevant experience working with advanced wireless network technology and systems integration or an equivalent combination. Must include wireless network management experience, including the development and maintenance of operations procedures covering a large footprint of wireless access points in multiple locations supporting thousands of users. Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Advanced knowledge of software development, modems, peripherals and other telecommunications systems. Advanced knowledge of Windows, UNIX, and MacOS, as well as TCP/IP networks.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $185,861.50 to USD $225,861.50. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
