Post Doctoral Scholar, Clinical Psychology - Comprehensive Cancer Center

Scope/Summary:

Post Doctoral Scholar to implement clinical interventions with people with cancer. The primary study involves implementation of a combined mHealth-telehealth symptom cluster (sleep, worry-anxiety, fatigue, depression) intervention for people with advanced cancer (1R01CA281885-04A1). This study will also examine the effectiveness of this intervention and the immune and hormonal biomarkers that affect symptom clustering. The second study involves a brief telehealth intervention with people with pancreatic cancer. Post Doctoral Scholar will collaborate with Dr. Wells-Di Gregorio on manuscripts, grants, and presentations. Additional responsibilities will include data analyses, collaboration with biomedical labs, and teaching/supervision of research staff. Because the grant involves delivery of psychological interventions and assessment of psychosocial outcomes in cancer populations, this position requires a clinical psychologist postdoctoral fellow (or an individual eligible for licensure as a clinical psychologist) to fulfill the responsibilities outlined in the grant. Postdoctoral researchers have the option to obtain additional clinical hours toward licensure if desired. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in clinical psychology with training or experience in health psychology. 

Required/Desired Skills:

  • Primary requirement is a desire to work with cancer populations

  • Research methods/design

  • Basic statistical analyses

  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy knowledge or experience

  • Acceptance and commitment therapy knowledge or experience 

  • Research publications

  • Health equity knowledge will be helpful, especially in working with rural populations 

  • Psychoneuroimmunology knowledge helpful, but not required
