Strategic Enrollment | Graduate and Professional AdmissionsReporting to the Assistant Director of Graduate and Professional Admissions, and as a member of the Graduate and Professional Admissions (GP) Outreach team, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the following job responsibilities:
Serves as an advanced resource to GP and Buckeye Link staff to resolve escalated admissions cases involving complex application and enrollment issues. Maintains current knowledge of international and professional admissions policies and procedures, including state and federal regulations, SEVIS requirements, and distinctions among international visa types. Stays current with Ohio State Graduate and Professional program offerings and application procedures. Interfaces with programs and processing units. Uses a Peoplesoft Student information database to look up applicant information and provide status updates to applicants, admits and matriculants; ensures effective intake of students. Conducts recruitment outreach via phone and email using a Salesforce CRM. Meets with students via virtual and in-person appointments and responds to student inquiries via email and phone.
Utilizes professional knowledge and experience to develop, implement, oversee, and manage Graduate and Professional Admissions outreach and recruitment activities in support of strategic enrollment initiatives, examples of which may include, but are not limited to:
Develops, implements, and oversees GP’s Campus Visit Program, offering individual and group campus tours and customized virtual information sessions to promote access to Ohio State to prospective graduate and professional students. Serves as the primary point of contact and operational liaison, coordinates logistics and provides exceptional customer service. Collaborates with visitors and group leaders, student organizations and campus support services, faculty and program staff, and SEM Marketing and Strategic Communications. Implements on-campus and off-campus recruitment programming designed to cultivate relationships in alignment with the Strategic Enrollment plan. Ensures timely and accurate administration, management, and communication of events, programs and initiatives and tracks and reports success of these recruitment efforts.
In support of international recruitment initiatives, plans specialized recruitment events for sponsoring agencies and prospective sponsored students on-campus and off-campus, including presenting webinars and serving as liaison and primary point of contact between EducationUSA, Fulbright, and other sponsoring agencies, international alumni groups, SEM Marketing and Strategic Communications, the Office of International Affairs (OIA), and program offices;. Creates targeted recruitment and yield marketing campaigns and implements on-campus and off-campus recruitment programming designed to cultivate relationships in alignment with the Strategic Enrollment plan. Ensures timely and accurate administration, management, and communication of events, programs and initiatives and tracks and reports success of these recruitment efforts. Serves as a subject matter resource for information focusing on best practices for recruitment and enrollment that promotes international student enrollment.
Conducts large and small-group presentations and webinars regarding the admission process. Travels to represent GP at recruiting events and programs, both locally and nationally. Occasional weekend and evening work required. Occasional overnight travel (for professional development conferences and/or recruitment activities) required.
Participates in special projects to support the needs of the Outreach Team, including but not limited to: Assists with the design, content development and maintenance of the team’s training manuals, job aids, and other instructional materials, templates, PowerPoint presentations and webinars, in accordance with brand guidelines and best practices, adapting complex information into user-friendly and easy-to-understand visual, written and recorded materials. Serves on university and professional committees. Trains and manages up to 3 student workers, employing a comprehensive performance management process, including setting expectations through planning, coaching and performance review. Performs other duties as assigned.
This position requires successful completion of a background check. Hybrid schedule with a minimum of three days per week of in-person work may be approved after successful completion of training, subject to the operational needs of the Outreach team.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, experienced, dynamic and engaging public speaker/presenter. Strong project management skills, highly organized, detail-oriented. Strong customer-service background and ability to track and resolve problems. Experience with office technology, such as Microsoft Office applications.
Desired:
2-4 years of relevant experience preferred, particularly in the field of Admissions/Recruitment, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated experience working with international students.
