POSITION SPECIFICS
The Berks College of The Pennsylvania State University in Reading, PA, is seeking applicants for a full-time Supervisor of Student Teaching, beginning July 2027 in its undergraduate elementary education program. This position will be filled at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant Teaching Professor, or Associate Teaching Professor and is not tenure line. Required:
· Master’s degree (Ed.D/Ph.D. preferred)
· Elementary school teaching experience
· Elementary school teacher mentoring/leadership experience
Preferred:
· Administrative/supervisory experience
· Elementary principal/supervisor certification
· Experience with urban schools
Responsibilities:
· Supervision of pre-professional and student teaching clinical experiences (including travel to local partner schools in Reading and potentially other school districts).
· Teaching education courses (foundations and/or upper level) including student teaching seminar
· Participation in education program activities including recruitment and academic advising
· Service to the Berks College such as committee work, attending division and college faculty meetings, participating in recruitment/retention events, and other relevant professional activities on campus
