Job descriptionReq 8168841

At Prospa, we exist to unleash the potential of small business. We are building the future of small business and simplifying cashflow by building a leading platform that helps customers make payments, fund growth and reduce admin. Join us!

We're looking for an experienced Senior Risk & Control Analyst on a 12 month fixed-term contract to help strengthen Prospa's operational risk and control environment. This is a high-impact opportunity to partner with leaders across the business, improve control effectiveness and support sustainable growth as we continue helping small businesses thrive.

Why You'll Love This Role

You'll have the opportunity to shape how risk and controls are embedded across a growing fintech, working directly with senior leaders and influencing meaningful business outcomes. It's an ideal role for someone who enjoys building, improving and driving change in a collaborative, delivery-focused environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead risk and control assessments across critical business processes.
  • Build and improve Prospa's enterprise control framework and control library.
  • Identify control gaps and partner with stakeholders to implement practical solutions.
  • Design and execute control testing and first-line assurance activities.
  • Provide insights and reporting on control effectiveness to senior stakeholders.
  • Embed strong risk management practices across business and technology change initiatives.

What You'll Bring

  • Strong experience in operational risk, risk and controls, internal audit or risk transformation.
  • Proven capability delivering risk or controls uplift programs within financial services, fintech, lending or payments.
  • Experience designing, documenting and testing controls.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
  • The ability to influence, challenge constructively and drive outcomes through ambiguity.
  • A practical, commercial approach to risk management.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to be hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

Don’t let a confidence gap get in the way of submitting your application.

 What we offer

As a busy grow getter, our benefits are here to help you be unstoppable in your mission. Whether it's a lofty career goal, investing in your family, saving the planet or simply feeling fulfilled:

  • Growth: There's something for everyone including learning days, a learning allowance, leadership programs, CliftonStrengths workshops, digital learning, and biannual companywide learning weeks.
  • Wellbeing: Think fitness initiatives, seasonal programs (including flu shots, massages, skin checks, wellness classes), additional "Me Days" and access to holistic EAP coaching.
  • Lifestyle: Find your fit with flexible working options, top notch office facilities and diverse remote/ travel work options. You can also purchase additional leave and take up to 18 weeks paid parental leave.
  • Impact: Join a business that cares and is recertified as carbon neutral. And you can tap into volunteer days, our partnership with Kiva and join a range of employee resource groups.

What applying to Prospa usually looks like

Based on publicly available information, candidates applying through greenhouse can generally expect a structured process typical of this ATS, beginning with an online application and resume submission, often followed by an automated confirmation. For roles at Prospa, such as business-development-representative, compliance-officer, or sales-development-representative positions, candidates may encounter an initial recruiter screening call to assess background and motivation, followed by one or more interviews with hiring managers or team members. Depending on the role, additional stages may include skills assessments, case studies, or panel discussions, particularly for compliance or sales-focused positions. Response times vary and are not guaranteed within a specific timeframe. Applicants should prepare clear examples of relevant experience, as greenhouse-based processes commonly emphasize structured, competency-based evaluation throughout the multiple stages involved.
